LED Light Bulb Illumination Principle
- Aug 28, 2018 -

Light-emitting diode bulbs are fundamentally different from traditional incandescent lamps in terms of structure and illumination. Diodes are common components in electronic circuits. They are made of semiconductor PN junctions, plus electrode leads and tubes, and diodes. There are two electrodes of PN junction, so it is called diode, diode has unidirectional conductivity, and there are many kinds of diodes. Commonly there are detector tube, rectifier tube, voltage regulator tube, switch tube, damper diode, illuminating tube, photoelectric tube and so on.

Light-emitting diodes are usually made of semiconductor materials such as gallium arsenide or gallium phosphide. They emit light when passing forward current. The color of the light depends on the materials used. It can emit red, yellow, green and infrared light. Generally, it is packaged in transparent plastic. The length of the pin is positive, the short of the pin is negative, and some LEDs have three lead pins. According to the voltage of the pin, two colors of light can be emitted.
